The Comparative Importance to British Businessmen of Trade with South Africa and Trade with the Rest of Africa

This briefing has as its focus the British trade with South Africa and Africa. British companies are being pushed into choices and the choice posed has to be viewed in the context of sanctions against South Africa. Britain is a trading nation because of economic necessity and while the British Government have strongly opposed the policy of apartheid they have also opposed cutting trade with South Africa. A number of issues concerning the British businessmen’s decisions to trade with Africa are investigated.
