The African Technopolitan Vol 5 January 2016

This issue of the African Technopolitan has as its main article ” The poverty of development strategy in Africa”. This article argues that Africa’s economic and techno-scientific progress is being lionized prematurely, to the detriment of its long term development. The next article ” Africa’s new Middle class, a vehicle for progressive change or more of the same” looks at the changing economy and rise of the middle class and their expectations. The next articles look at mobility as a vital part of international trade and China’s contribution to skills development in Sub-Saharan Africa. The next two articles talk about biotechnology as an important development and capacity building tool. Several articles cover information technology, mobile technology and limitations of these technologies to develop Africa’s knowledge economy. Articles on agricultural production, health and science, conflict resolution and security are also covered in this issue.
