The visit from the Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs had as its purpose to discuss the establishing of a free trade agreement between South Africa and Brazil. Both Brazil and SA were disillusioned at the inconclusive World Trade Organisation Millennium Round in Seattle. This update clearly indicates that Brazil was looking at a trade agreement with South Africa and how this could lead to better trade relations between the two countries and what the benefits will be if ties are stronger.
