Options for talented learners from disadvantaged backgrounds

“Many learners from disadvantaged backgrounds capable of obtaining university entrance passes in mathematics do not do so either because their schools do not teach mathematics, or the tuition is inferior. In recent years the private sector has initiated a number of projects aimed at realising this potential. CDE commissioned JET Education Services to study some of these programmes in order to establish what makes them successful, and whether any of
them could be taken to scale.”
