Land and Agrarian Reform in Integrated Development Plans (IDPs)

“DPLG identified the need to examine what
municipalities are doing to promote land and
agrarian reform by evaluating IDPS, which
all municipalities are required to develop to
guide their activities and expenditure over
five-year periods. In response to this imperative, GTZ contracted PLAAS to conduct
an exploratory study to enquire into the
following research questions: To what extent are land reform, rural housing and agriculture evident in IDPs? What challenges do municipalities face in integrated land reform, rural housing and agriculture within their planning processes? What land reform projects have been established within the sample municipalities and what information is
available on these? This report presents the summarised findings of this study.”
