Incidence of Indigenous, Emerging and Innovative Climate Change Adaptation Practices for Smallholder Farmers’ Livelihood Security in Chikhwawa District, Southern Malawi

Africa is subject to widespread poverty, recurrent droughts, hostile climate and over dependence on rain-fed agriculture. The majority of farming households in Africa struggle to sustain their livelihoods. Climate change and variability has created uncertainties in temperature patterns. As a result rural people whose main economic activity is agriculture are faced with many challenges in decision making with respect to their agricultural activities.
