Facing the Challenges of Development in a Post Conflict Transition Select Workshop Papers and Reports Rwanda Chapter 2001 – 2005

“Chapter 1 of this book performs two tasks.
The first one is to posit the Rwanda Chapter in the context of Rwanda socio-economic development sphere. It is describing the Rwanda economy and how it has shaped the discourses in Rwanda and Chapter members in particular. The second task is giving a ‘bird’s eye view’ of what is presented in this book. This book has 3 Parts. Part 1 covers the severe levels of poverty in Rwanda and how agriculture and education can eradicate poverty. Part 2 focuses on the poverty situation in Africa within the framework of NEPAD. Part 3 covers the political and financial aspects of poverty reduction as well as the issue around food security and nutrition and the role of the private sector in poverty reduction.”
