Enhancing Youth Employability Zambia

“In the last decade, Zambia’s population grew by an average of 3 percent a year — faster than the average for sub-Saharan
Africa of 2.7 percent. Despite economic growth of 6 percent a year since 2000, Zambia remains challenged by high levels of poverty and the aspirations of its growing youth population. Given the country’s sustained high fertility rate, Zambia’s workforce will remain young for some time. Recent UNDP projections
estimate that working age youth (15 to 24) will make up 20 percent of the population for the next two decades.”
