Election Talk [Zimbabwe]

This paper covers the campaign process during the 2005 Zimbabwe parliamentary elections. Matloga and Moloi examined whether the campaign in the parliamentary elections conformed to the regional guidelines. Chiroro examined how accessible the government owned media was during this election process. Was their fair coverage and equitable access given to the opposition? Masterson and Moloi’s report detailed various allegations, statements made to the police re the political violence and intimidation and sought to verify these reports through independent means. Letsholo focused in his article on the use of public resources in election time with regard to public media, public funding for political parties and other related resources that are and can be used. The article furthermore focuses on relevant legislation that clearly stipulate on the conduct of political parties when using state resources.
