eAfrica: The Electronic Journal of Governance and Innovation, Vol 3, December 2005

This issue discusses the relevance of the Millennium development goals for Africa and why these goals will not succeed in relieving the poverty crisis in Africa. The article “Paying for Broken promises” covers the first referendum that was held in Kenya and the result of this referendum. Aid to Africa clearly indicates what is wrong with the aid given to Africa and why this does not succeed. An interview with Dr Bernard Kouassi on the APRM is included in this issue as well as an article on the microcredit movement as implemented by the United Nations and what this movement will do to relieve poverty in Africa.
