Disaffected and Delinquent Male Youth in Rwanda: Understanding Pathways to Delinquency and the Role of Rehabilitation and Vocational Skills Training Final Report

The research in this paper aimed to provide clarifications on how the issue of disaffected and delinquent youth in Rwanda is handled and treated. Providing residential rehabilitation and training is expensive and therefore it needs to be used for those young men most in need of and likely to benefit from such training. What are the pathways to youth disaffection and delinquency? What are the most effective and efficient ways of dealing with disaffected and delinquent youth? Is the Awawa rehabilitation centre fit for purpose? Are the graduates from the Centre likely to become reintegrated into society as productive citizens?
