Climate Change and Economic Development in Sub-Saharan Africa

"The ninth African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) senior policy seminar, held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, in March 2007, identified the impact of climate change on economic development in Africa as a top priority for further policy-oriented research. Taking up this challenge, AERC organized its tenth senior policy seminar around the theme, Climate Change and Economic Development in Sub-Saharan Africa.AERC researchers approached the issues from four perspectives with papers organized around the following themes: Climate Change and Economic Development – Issues, Challenges and Opportunities, Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture, Impact on Africa’s Trade and Competitiveness and the Assessment of Climate Risk."
