Citizens Perception on Migration in South Africa

This bulletin gives insight into the feelings of South Africans with regard to migrants. It gives a perception of how migrants will be accepted into the workplace and neighbourhoods. It also looks at the extent to which migrants will be welcomed as potential new citizens. The results suggest that South Africa remains fertile ground for those who would use xenophobia to mobilise popular political support or local riots for commercial gain.
