BIDPA Annual Report 1999/2000

“The end of the financial year 1999/2000 marks the end of BIDPA’s fifth year of operation. There has been an increase in the demand for BIDPA’s services regionally, which is an indication that the Institute’s reputation and visibility is gaining recognition in the Southern African region. Significant projects undertaken during the year include the “4th Evaluation of the Financial Assistance Policy (FAP)” and the “Botswana Human Development Report 99/00 (BHDR)”. A number of new projects were started during the year, including a regional project on capacity building for WTO negotiations, a study on “Performance management in the local authorities of Botswana” and the preparation of economic projections for a Government project on Oil Storage in Botswana. Important projects completed during the period included “Making Government Smaller”, a project on economic diversification in Selebi-Phikwe, a study on the “Macro-economic impact of HIV/AIDS in Botswana” and an evaluation of HIV/AIDS data in Botswana.
