“This paper is part of a larger study of poverty alleviation in Botswana, undertaken by BIDPA for the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning. The paper presents revised estimates of the Poverty Datum Line (PDL) for Botswana, needed to analyse the Household Income and Expenditure Surveys for 1993/94 and 1985/86 in terms of poverty. The PDL revisions are fully documented, including details of assumptions used and estimates derived.”
