Andrew Ssemwanga

Dr. Andrew Ssemwanga is currently a visiting senior lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies of Kigali Independent University, Gisenyi campus. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting), a Masters of Business Administration (Financial Management and Marketing Management); Doctorate in Management and PhD in Corporate Governance. He is both an incorporated Financial Accountant and a Certified Financial Consultant and holds Fellowships in both of them. He belongs to several professional bodies and is associated with both the African Research and Resource Forum and Africa Governance Institute. He has extensive experience in Finance and Accounting in connection with insurance, catering, clearing, forwarding and farming enterprises which he gained by serving as Chief Finance Manager. He has teaching and external examining experience in a number of universities and he has produced numerous materials for teaching, including authoring several research papers during the course of his career. Most recently, he served as a lecturer in Corporate Governance, Accounting and Finance at Makerere University. After Makerere University, he served as Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics/Acting Vice Chancellor at Cavendish University Uganda. He has sat on several influential boards in Uganda e.g. Uganda Clays Limited.

He is very active in research and consultancy in Higher Education, Corporate Governance, Finance, Management and Accounting both in the private and public sectors.
