Ezana Bocresion

Mr. Bocresion is the Managing Partner of Aeneas Holdings, LLC (“Aeneas Holdings”), a Merchant Banking firm he founded in 2009 to focus mainly on the Sub-Saharan African region. Mr. Bocresion works with institutional investors, hedge funds and private equity firms on transactions in a variety of industries including; agribusiness, metals and mining, real estate, chemicals and basic industries. Mr. Bocresion helps execute investment programs for professional investors by leveraging his extensive experience as an investment banker gained in Latin America (especially Brazil), North America and Europe. In addition to bringing to bear his valuation and structuring skills, Mr. Bocresion helps investors understand the African investment landscape and add value to portfolio companies by leveraging his extensive Pan African network.

Between 2012 and late 2014, Mr. Bocresion was the Co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Copia Agribusiness, LLC (“Copia”). Copia was born out of the work done previously under Aeneas Holdings. Copia was an Agribusiness Private Equity Fund focused on investing across the agribusiness value chain in select Sub-Saharan African countries. Mr. Bocresion sold his stake in Copia in late 2014.

Prior to launching Copia Agribusiness, Mr. Bocresion spent 17 years in New York and London as an Investment Banker with JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch, Atlas Advisors, and then 3 years as a Merchant Banker at Aeneas Holdings. Mr. Bocresion has completed transactions valued in excess of $64bn in North America, Latin America and Europe. He has experience in a variety of industries including; agribusiness, chemicals, industrials, consumer products, technology, media and business services. He has worked with a global client base of recognized Corporates and many of the leading private equity firms in the world.

Between 1986 and 1991, Mr. Bocresion worked at KPMG Peat Marwick and Laventhol and Horwath in New York as a CPA and Engagement Manager.

Mr. Bocresion received an MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College in 1993 and a BA from Boston University in 1986. His prior schooling was in Kenya and England. Mr. Bocresion is a native African with dual Ethiopian and US nationality. He has lived and traveled across Africa and has worked extensively in Europe, Asia and the Americas. He is fluent in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Amharic, Tigringha and has a limited working knowledge of Arabic.
