Diamond Industry Annual Review – Angola 2007

Partnership Africa Canada (PAC) has been a leader in the campaign against conflict diamonds since 1999. It has been an active member of all Kimberley Process meetings and Working Groups. It has produced several background studies on diamond-related issues, 17 occasional papers and a quarterly newsletter, Other Facets. All are available on the PAC website (www.pacweb.org). This Annual Review of the Angolan Diamond Industry is the third produced by PAC and its partners. PAC also produces Annual Reviews of the diamond industries in Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These three countries suffered greatly from diamond-fuelled wars, and the Annual Reviews aim to provide their governments, their civil societies and their investors with information that will be helpful in the promotion of greater transparency and more positive developmental outcomes from the industry.
