Victoria Sekitoleko joined the FAO as a director and subregional representative based in Zimbabwe in 1995. Before joining the FAO, she worked in the Uganda Development Bank (1973-86); as deputy minister for agriculture and forestry in the Government of Uganda (1986-88); and as minister of agriculture, livestock, and fisheries (1988-95). Before entering politics, she was the chairperson of the Women's Non-Governmental Organization of Uganda.
