Olivia Lwabukuna

Dr. Olivia K Lwabukuna is a Legal and policy specialist in international law, trade and sustainable development. She has worked on issues of international law, economic governance and development, concentrating on minorities, corporations and LFIs (Law, legal frameworks and institutions) under international law. She is currently based at the Africa Institute within the South African Human Sciences Research Council where she works on the role of law in African development. Her central focus is the nexus between trade and rights based socio-economic development. Dr. Lwabukuna is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Law and international legal studies) from the University of Swaziland, Master of Laws (International Commercial Law) from the University of Cape Town and a Doctor of Laws (Public International law) from the University of Pretoria. She has lectured law in Eastern and Southern Africa and worked as a legal practitioner in Tanzania and Swaziland. She has also worked as an Associate at the CWAS-College of Arts and Law at Birmingham University, the NCPR-East African Community and the National Competitiveness Council of Nigeria.
